Frequently Asked Questions

Waxing Treatments

What is Hot wax?
Hot wax is the best wax hair removal treatment on the market made from beeswax with added resins and oils, it’s completely natural. The wax is applied to the skin thickly then left to set and removed quickly. By applying the hot wax directly onto the skin it opens the pores, ensuring that the hair is removed with minimal discomfort. It’s especially good for coarse hair and is much less painful than strip waxing.

How long should I leave between wax treatments?
Normally 4-6 weeks but it depends on the individual, most people visit the salon more often in the summer as hair grows quicker in the heat.

Do I need to take my underwear off?
If you are having a Brazilian or Hollywood bikini wax you will need to remove underwear, so that the technician can get to the area without restrictions giving you the best results. If you are having a bikini line or g-string wax, it’s not always necessary but it’s best if you wear a thong.

What is the most popular shape?
It depends on the person, the shape is very personal, mostly people have either a triangle, a strip or take it all off! We are more than happy to discuss these options.

Do I need to trim?
No, there’s no need. Leave everything to us, we are the experts and will ensure that all your hair removal needs are catered for.

Can I have treatments during menstruation?
Yes, this is no problem at all. Please ensure that you wear internal sanitary protection for hygiene and comfort reasons during treatments

Is there anything I shouldn’t do after a wax?
- Tanning - We would advise that you do not sunbathe or have a sun bed for 24 hours after or before a wax. This also applies to self tanning treatments on the same day; we would advice waiting at lease 24 hours your waxing treatment.
- Leisure Activities - Avoid heat treatments such as sauna, Jacuzzi and even hot baths. Swimming should be avoided for at least 8 hours due to the chlorine which could irritate the skin.
- Perfume - Heavily perfumed products should not be used on the waxed area for 8-10 hours.

Is there anything I should do in between wax treatments?
You should exfoliate with a body exfoliating scrub or a loofah and moisturise the skin, this will keep the skin soft and smooth which will make waxing easier as it will encourage hairs to grow through properly avoiding any ingrown hairs.

Do you offer mens waxing?
We are a unisex salon and offer a restricted waxing service for men which include back, chest and eyebrow shape, but unfortunately we do not offer mens brazilian waxing.
